Driver Development Program Experience
Manarth Prasad’s passion for racing led him from track days to competitive motorsport with the guidance of RaceAway Track Time’s Driver Development Program. Under coach Phil Alexander, Manarth honed his skills, gained his Motorsport Australia Circuit License, and achieved his dream of racing in the RX8 Cup.
From Aspiration to Achievement: Manarth Prasad’s Journey with RaceAway Track Time
For many aspiring racers, transitioning from casual track days to competitive motorsport can feel like a daunting leap. But for Manarth Prasad, that leap was made possible through dedication, the right mentorship, and the tailored support of RaceAway Track Time’s Driver Development Program. Guided by our experienced head coach, Phil Alexander, Manarth embarked on a journey that saw him progress through endurance racing, hone his skills in various training days, and ultimately achieve his goal of competing at Challenge Bathurst behind the wheel of an RX8.

In this blog, Manarth shares his experience — from obtaining his Motorsport Australia Circuit License to thriving in competitive racing — and how the RaceAway team helped unlock his potential, both on and off the track.
“I've loved cars since I can remember, and had been participating in track days since I'd gotten my license. I was ready to step things up and start competing in motorsport and would need a competition license as I had aspirations of competing in the RX8 cup.
I was referred Raceaway track time for my observed license test and was pleasantly surprised to discover that my license test was to be overseen by Phil Alexander, having been a long time fan of rotaries - I recognised the name, there was a model of one of his former race cars in the workshop I use!

It's safe to say that what was meant to be a simple one day exam has turned into a valued partnership with a wonderful group of people. Though I'd obtained my license, I was by no means a racing driver - by utilising Raceaway track times connections I was able to access a variety of entry level events that I would not have known had ever existed.
“I can’t speak enough to the value to be found in working with someone with the breadth of experience provided by Phil. With a keen eye and understanding of each individual driver that he works with, the strong focus on foundational learning has equipped me with the ability to feel confident in a formal race environment. ”
Driving skills aside, understanding how to navigate the formalities of organised racing events, the decorum expected by officials at a race track - all of which is made a thousand times easier with the guidance of someone with decades of experience. It means that you're able to focus on the important part, developing your skills and driving.
I was able to participate in lower level events, frequent practice sessions and within five months, I was offered an opportunity to compete in challenge Bathurst. Through everything I had learnt in working with Phil in that short period of time, I actually felt equipped with the knowledge and ability to enjoy and learn from the experience of driving on one of the best tracks in the entire world.
Taking everything I had learnt, just under a year on from obtaining my license and now having experienced a wide variety of cars and racetracks, I have now achieved my goal of competing regularly in the RX8 cup - with the knowledge and skills I now possess, I can comfortably look upon my growth and past self and say that none of the joy any of this has brought to my life would have been possible without the guidance, friendship and company of Phil and the team. I highly suggest that anybody with the interest, whether you're an enthusiast, working on your own growth or someone with genuine aspirations towards being a racing driver - reach out to the team, there's a world of experiences and possibilities out there. All that's missing is you.”

NSW Production Touring Winner
Winner winner! Driver Ronin Linden-mayer takes home first place in the NSW Production Touring round 3 at Sydney Motorsport Park driving the One Raceway Mazda SP25.
A beautiful weekend of driving at Sydney Motorsport Park in the NSW Production Touring R3. We couldn't get Ronin out of the seat after Sydney 300 so we left him there ready for Test & Tune on Friday.
Head Coach Phil Alexander made the day about car familirisation and spacial awareness out on track. This was Ronin's second race in an SP25 having previously driven at Winton.
Saturday was qualifying and an 18 minute race. Qualified second in class and ending up second in first race with the best time being a 1:55.3 - a two second improvement on his fastest qualifying lap.
Sunday rolled round with yet more beautiful weather. Ronin's driving improved yet again with his fastest lap in the final race a 1:54.8. Managed to take out first place in the class in the two races on Sunday which gave us the podium win for the round.
Massive congrats to Ronin who has gone from strength to strength. Improving by 4 seconds over the weekend is a huge feather in your cap and another win under the belt is just awesome!
Big thanks to our partners over at One Raceway we were stoked to be able to represent the new track with a class win 🏆🏆🏆
Winton 300 - 1st in Class
Pole position in the Winton 300, RaceAway Mazda SP25 taking on the iconic mini enduro at Winton Raceway with drivers Manarth Prasad and Ronin Linden-Mayer. Having practiced at Pheasant Wood Circuit the boys were ready to step it up from the Deputy 4 Hour to the state level NSW Production Touring round.
What an AWESOME weekend at the Winton 300. The team took Manarth Prasad and Ronin Linden-mayer down to the Victorian track, the first state level race for the boys. Taking on NSW Production Touring was the next level for both racers stepping up from track days and smaller club racing. Having practiced the week before in the Deputy 4 Hour, both drivers were ready to take on the longer track noting there were several straights to work on getting up to speed.
The nature of Winton is well suited to having trained at Pheasant Wood Circuit with nice sweeping straights followed by really tight corners that come back on themselves. Head coach Phil Alexander saying that he worked with the drivers on developing a consistent cornering and braking sequence whilst being mindful of keeping the car balanced particularly into turn 7. Prasad noted the straights were a great way to gain speed and working on the corner exit really set them up.
Fantastic to have the team bring home pole position for class E with many other competitors noting the drivers excellent traffic management particularly in amongst the faster cars.
Huge thanks to the crew: Kai Barlow and Toony Moore both on driver assist and spanners. Karen Alexander for socials management and driver welbeing and Head Coach Phil Alexander once again heading up the team.
Congrats boys - one for the pool room!
