The Deputy 4 Hour Endurance Race is an exhilarating team race designed to make motorsport accessible for everyone, especially those looking to start racing. Held over eight rounds, the Deputy 4 Hour requires teams of four drivers who race in 15-minute stints with mandatory 90-second pit stops. The race is run at the Pheasant Wood Circuit in Marulan, New South Wales, known for its excellent facilities and challenging course design, making it the perfect venue for this thrilling event.

THE RACE

  • Participants in the Deputy 4 Hour must have a four-seater car manufactured between 1986 and 2009 with an engine capacity of 2 liters or less. The vehicle must be equipped with a roll cage and a four-point racing harness, ensuring safety and compliance with race regulations. The race format includes a 60-minute practice and qualifying session followed by two separate 2-hour races, providing ample track time and a rigorous test of both driver skill and vehicle endurance.

  • To compete in the Deputy 4 Hour Endurance Race, drivers must have a Motorsport Australia Competition License, AASA or Pheasant Wood Competition License. Proper racing attire is mandatory, including a fire-resistant racing suit, gloves, shoes, and a helmet that meets safety standards.

  • The event takes place at the Pheasant Wood Circuit in Marulan, New South Wales, known for its top-tier facilities and challenging track design. The race day begins with a 60-minute practice and qualifying session from 9:00 am to 10:00 am with 3 classes available and a new break out class for under 60 seconds.

    Following the qualifying session, the first part of the race kicks off at 10:30 am and runs until 12:30 pm. During this two-hour stint, driver changes must occur every 15 minutes, with each pit stop lasting a minimum of 90 seconds. The first half of the race is followed by an hour for lunch.

    The second part of the race starts at 1:15 pm and continues until 3:15 pm. Starting positions for this session are determined by the laps completed and any penalties incurred during the first part of the race.

  • Participation in the Deputy 4 Hour requires a $750 entry fee per round, with a minimum of three drivers per car.
