About the RX8 Cup One Make Series

The RX8 Cup is a Motorsport Australia-sanctioned one make racing series for Mazda RX8 Series 1 manual-transmission cars. Designed to deliver parity and affordability, the category produces consistently close racing and strong grids across multiple rounds each season.

As a true one make series, RX8 Cup places all competitors in near-identical cars, ensuring outcomes are decided by racecraft, preparation, and consistency rather than budget.

2026 RX8 Cup Round Dates

The current 2026 calendar includes: 

• Round 1: 28 February – 1 March 2026 — Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit
• Round 2: 29–31 May 2026 — Sydney Motorsport Park
• Round 3: 19–21 June 2026 — Sydney Motorsport Park
• Round 4: 15–16 August 2026 — Winton Motor Raceway
• Round 5: 23–25 October 2026 — One Raceway
• Round 6: 13–15 November 2026 — One Raceway

The Race Car — RX8 Cup Specification

You’ll compete in RaceAway Track Time’s professionally prepared Mazda RX8 Cup race car, built specifically to comply with RX8 Cup one make series regulations.

Key features include:

• FIA-approved roll cage

• Competition coil-over suspension

• Race-spec braking package

• FIA race seat with harness

• Removable steering wheel

• Competition exhaust system

• 1.3L rotary engine prepared to RX8 Cup control specifications

The result is a balanced, predictable, and rewarding race car — ideal for developing racecraft in a one make environment.

Licensing & Safety Gear

To compete in the RX8 Cup one make series you will need:

• A Motorsport Australia Competition Licence (race licence level)

• Full FIA-compliant race apparel, including suit, gloves, boots, balaclava

• An approved HANS device

• Compliance with all RX8 Cup supplementary regulations
