10 TRACK DAY ESSENTIALS - What to Bring to the Track!!

10 TRACK DAY ESSENTIALS

We know you're excited for your next Track day or race event but don’t forget to pack these 10 essentials in your kit to make sure your day is even better!

  1. Helmet:

The most important piece of equipment for your track day! If you have your own preferred helmet then bring it along for your sessions. We also have helmets available for hire at our Track days ONLY! For events you must have your own FIA approved helmet included in your race kit.

  2. Race Suit:

Although we do not require you to wear race suits at our track days, we recommend investing in a quality suit if you are interested in participating in multiple track days or race events. Long sleeve shirts and long pants are required to be worn at track days if you do not own a race suit. Race events require FIA approved race suits to be worn, no exceptions. We recommend checking out Revolution Racegear for all your apparel needs.

  3. GloveS:

Alongside your helmet and race suit, race gloves are required to be worn for race events. Not required for Track days but are encouraged.

  4. SHOES:

Appropriate footwear is crucial for your track day or race event. Comfortable and flexible sole shoes such as Converse or Volleys are perfect for track days. If you are racing in an event then proper race shoes are mandatory.

  5. GoPro:

We highly recommend for drivers to bring their own GoPro or similar recording device to their Track day. This guarantees video footage for all drivers, It also allows us to identify where improvement is needed when participating in driver coaching sessions. We will supply mounts for GoPro devices. This is a requirement for race events, you must bring one to your event.

  6. Hydralyte +Water:

Besides your helmet, there is nothing more important to bring to your race or track day than water and hydralyte. Driving is very strenuous on the body and refueling after a session is crucial. Drinking hydralyte can replenish the electrolytes lost during excessive sweating which will happen when driving a car. Packing plenty of water will ensure you are fully prepared for your session or event.

  7. FOOD:

High carbohydrate dense foods are ideal the night before and the morning of your race or track day. Pasta for dinner the night before and oats for breakfast with a muffin on the way to the track is perfect! These foods will allow for your energy levels to be sufficient throughout your session. Snacking on quick digesting foods such a muesli bars or pikelets, even a few lollies will allow for your energy to stay at optimal levels during the day.

  8. Hans Device:

To ensure safety requirements are met, it is highly recommended to own your own Hans Device if you are planning on racing in events or are likely to participate in more than one track day. Many events require Hans devices as part of regulation.

  9. EAR BUDS:

Only applicable for race events to allow for communication with pit crew.

  10. License +log book:

Always ensure you have your motorsport license and log book on hand at all times during a race event. Single-use Track day licenses are available at track days.
